I need some metal to mix!

I'm a metal guy that has been recording and mixing for quite some time, but the past couple years have been spent mixing everything except metal. I live in Chicago which is full of indie and emo...not my cup of tea. Most of my sessions are indie or emo, and I just need something heavy to work on to bring me out of this funk.

Does anyone have any tracks they want mixed for free? I know a lot of you probably record and mix as well, but I'm getting desperate and need something heavy while I have a few weeks of downtime.

I can accept any format...even 2" tape. I prefer Pro Tools sessions, but it doesn't matter because I have pretty much every DAW under the sun.

If you have anything you want mixed please let me know.

I got a band coming up an a week or so would you be interested to mix a song. I run protools so no problems sending that. I would like to see what you do exactly with plugs and eqing and stuff if you would not mind sending me session back when your done. I would love to see also how it turns out compared to my mix. Let me know if you be interested in a few weeks after i track if not no big deal i thought i would just throw it out there.

It will be a few weeks though so think about it........

Thanks a lot! I'm not sure who Gavin is or what his server address is. Is it this server? Excuse my ignorance, but since he posted his response within this thread it is perfectly ok to ask in this thread. I didn't start a new thread asking so is it really that big of a deal?

I haven't been able to find the mix contests, and I've got a whole bunch of high end gear that I'm borrowing that I want to try out on a new mix.

I don't have any sessions planned for another couple weeks, and I'd like to work on something now.

I'm ordering some new equipment tomorrow and will be recording my brother's band the first week in April. They're only 15 and 16 years old but they are pretty talented. If you are still looking to mix some stuff I'll be happy to send you a song or two to take a crack at.
