When I write melodic metal most of you probably think Power-metal.

I'm into all the genres. Anyhoo, the main genres I'm looking for would be:

Melodic Death Metal.
Melodic Black Metal.
Melodic Doom Metal.
Melodic Dark Metal.
Progressive Melodic Metal.

Any recommendations?

What bands do you know already?

Without that knowledge, I'd say:

Equilibrium
Amon Amarth
Norther
Moonsorrow
Bal-Sagoth
Kiuas (power metal, but cool stuff)

I'll leave it at that for now. There's a ton of stuff, but I don't know how much of it you've heard.

Aright, since I dunno what you're into...
In Flames
Dark Tranquility
At The Gates
Amon Amarth
Dissection
Catamenia
Wintersun
Paths of Possession
and you might like some folk metal like Eluveitie

Sig resized. If you want it smaller, just empty your cache.

I'm into all kinds of metal - just keep it up. And I do mean all kinds.

Eucharist
Dawn
Decameron
Saturnus
At the Gates
Sacramentum
The Moaning
Mörk Gryning
Arghoslent
Katatonia
Cardinal Sin

All I have to suggest that someone haven't already is And Oceans. I guess they count as melodic black metal. Get their album "The Symmetry of I - The Circle of O", you won't regret it.

lifelover i consider melodic black pop metal

check out "pulver" by them and since i'm sure you will like that, also get "erotik" (2007)

that's their only two full lengths but if you like depressive melodic black metal with melancholic pop influences you can't go wrong!
