I won't beat a dead horse and make a long reply out of this, but in this day and age the American public norm are materialistic and self centered as hell. This does not surprise me one bit. Having said that..... promoters and bands need to realize this and not print something on the ticket stub that says something to that affect.
A friend of mine that I had in my late teens went to a Cindy Lauper (however you spell her name) concert. The guy was into hard rock and metal so I really don't know why he went.... but that is beside the point. He told me this story..... Cindy was about three songs into her set and the power went out. After a few minutes of blackness all around, her crew members got out their flashlights and shined them on her and then she sat down on the end of the stage, but moved around to different places again sitting down and talked to the audience for an hour and a half until power was restored. She then finished her whole set starting with the song the power went out on. Cindy found a way to improvise.
Am I saying I blame Rush ? Absolutely not. I do not have enough information to blame anyone. I certainly do blame this Langone guy for being a greedy asshole. However, when events like this are planned, it seems like too often not enough preparation goes into them.

that is actually cool as hell. it is amazing to see what some people will do for thier fans and what some wont. I bet 100 bucks that everyone of those people had an amazing time at that show because they got something that no one ever will get to experince. It is always nice to see performers who are there for thier fans and not milk them for thier money.

Penn and Teller are the same way. After each one of thier shows they go to the front doors to say thanks to everyone who came out to their show. To me that goes a long way and breaks down that fake wall of "they are better than us" attitude.
I can attest to this personally!!! Saw them in downtown Chicago in the late 80's at the Schubert Theater and while leaving there they were outside the theater shaking hands and personally selling and signing merch. What great guys!!

Seriously. Hasn't this happened to tons of people? I drove 3 hours (bad traffic) to Connecticut to do an interview with Sonata Arctica and see the show. Brought my youngest son with me too. Ten minutes from the venue, the manager calls to tell me the show and interview are off. (Tony was sick.) I had a non-refundable motel room, so what to do? My kid (wisely) had brought his X-box, so he commandeered the TV, I hit the lounge and watched the Olympics. Hey, I had a "business" commitment with them. Should I have sued them for gas/motel/food etc.? That would be ridiculous.Maybe I should sue Evergrey for canceling the Jaxx show last year *after* I'd already bought plane tickets to MD. Or maybe that's just the risk I took for going out of state, and found something else to occupy my time that evening!
Same experience here. He's great with his fans.I have met Yngwie twice and both times, he was as pleasant and humble as one could be..... maybe I caught him on good days, but..... who knows.
