I Retubed my amp: choose which tubes you like more

I retubed my amp.
Here we got 3 different power tube sets, tell me what you like more

to me they sound almost the same.
1 is very cheap, another one expensive and the other one still expensive but not as much as the other one (just few bucks less).
It's really interesting to know what you think.
Oh by the way these are totally raw tracks!

hm, 2 and 3 seem more tight and less boomy/muddy than 1.
I think I like 2 the most, because it has a smoother hi-end than 3.
The differences aren't very dramatical, though.

Yeah I like the 3 because it's clearer and yes it hasn't a so smooth top end like the number 2 but it's clearer ... you know

I prefer clip 2. Tighter bottom end and the mids are a little bit more forward. The difference is fairly subtle but I think it's there. Hopefully you're not gonna tell us it's the same clip 3 times!!!

I like the clip 2 and 3... the 3 is more defined and the 2 has more bottom... What amp is that and what tubes did u use?

The Amp is a dual rectifier and yeah the tone is too dark, I think I'll record something better tomorrow or on wednesday

First clip is JJ tubes
second Bugera tubes (ahhahah lol)
Third Svetlana tubes

I just prefer Svetlana over JJ on this amp, that's it.
Yeah everyone praises JJ's but I think these Bugera just do the job really well ha

My dual recto is modded, so it isn't fixed bias

Yeah, I figured that from how the files were called "Bias Test"!

What I mean is did you shoot for the same current draw through each set the tubes, or did you do it by ear looking for the point where each different set sounded best?

it is still fixed, the other way of biasing is cathode bias.

fixed doesn't mean non-adjusable.

anyway I can put tubes on I like and set the bias so the crossover distortion is away, don't ask me more I'm not a tech lol I just do what the tech told me, in fact mine is warmer than a stock dual recto

Clip 3 is hands down the best, but they all sound a little muddy.
