I didn't know it was out yet. I'm torn, not sure it required a remake or oh " twisted" they would allow one to be.

I think it could have done without the intense music and drum slamming stuff. Makes it look like they tried too hard to suggest that we feel a certain way.
In the 1980 version, they didn't have to. When you see the rape scenes in the original, it didn't need music, the harmonica sufficed. They kept the music calm and quiet which makes it even sicker.

yeah the new one was ok in parts, just another remake that tries too hard to out gross the original, but there was one scene that almost made me vomit, so a few extra points earned for brutality

I suppose the "no remake" ban might as well be lifted, or I'll not get to see many films these days.. I'll give it a shot.
