I sure wish you guys would make it to houston....

Yeah, that would be cool ....I missed Solitude in San Antonio this weekend, I had a touch of strep throat and it rained ALL DAY at sounds of the underground here in Dallas on Friday, now I'm totally sick and disgusting to be around. Blah...anyway, yes that would be an awesome show and we gotta try to get these guys back to Texas.

Hey there, fellow Texan! Are you a native or transplant? I saw Solitude Aeturnus a few years ago in Houston. They played the Bang Your head festival we had with Helstar headlining.

I can't wait to hear their new stuff.

Born and raised in Dallas. No goofy accent though, ask the guys. :loco:

I've never seen a REAL SA concert, I caught them last year in Arlington at a friends and family mini show kind of thing at a small club, I think there were like 30 of us there. It was pretty cool though. The samples on their site sound pretty cool, we'll see soon.

We just played in NYC this weekend with a band from your general area called Well Of Souls, very cool band and very nice guys. Perhaps we'll wind up hooking something up with them in the future where we can come down and perform with them. We'll definitely let you know.

Oh lord..... not Well of Souls... :loco:

Not a band widely liked down here. They're alright, but.... the singer WANTS to be Robert Lowe or Ronnie James Dio with all of those maneurisms..... and the name of the band is ripped directly from the Candlemass classic, so for originality not much there....

Oh well, it's been awhile since I've seen them, maybe they've gotten better. :tickled:

At any rate, I could always show up later at the show. :loco:

I enjoyed Well Of Souls quite alot. They put on a good show, they had energy, they were enthusiastic, and while they might not have been entirely original they did combine different elements of metal that made them a bit more unique and harder to classify. To top it off there were the friendliest bunch and we got on well with them instantly. The singer is a bit different and I liked that, because if there's one thing I cannot stand anymore it's these fucking doom bands who have some mumbly-joe stoner rock vocalist with the vocal range of Hans Moleman. LOL

The singer is an assmunch who owns a record store and is the typical cocky elitist mom and pop record store owner. He's like the metal version of the guys from High Fidelity.

Well the "assmunch" was quite nice to us and helped us out alot. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

And I liked "High Fidelity", by the way ;)

Of course, of course. I tend to talk out of my ass sometimes, rather blunt, but that's just me. Great movie, but I've worked at many music stores, managed one or two, so I can fall into that elitist mindset from time to time as well.

I don't know, I guess depending on what bands play, they might be all right.... I've just been exposed to them for too long and when you see them, followed by the mighty James Rivera..... it's just not even close.

I can understand your logic. There's some local bands like that here, which may be good bands, but I can no longer stand them due to over saturation of the local scene. It's one of those reasons we only play locally once or twice a year. This way, when we play It's more of an event people will come to see, then just "Oh damn, Novembers Doom... AGAIN!"

*still hasn't heard Well of Souls* I'm so horrible with local/Texas bands. Though I'm catching Vesperian Sorrow Saturday. Do they have a site? Yeah yeah, I know to google it, but "well of souls" pulls up a lot of crap.

i calls em as i sees em.
