i think... yea, i think i know where you can find a Kayo Dot Review

I have already decided to forgo purchasing cds in october that are not Kayo Dot... because I know they will just be a waste of money and sit in my closet for about 6 months. The review doesnt change this at all :) . Also the lyrics seem quite lovely... Cant wait for the rest of The Wayfarer.

static - (and please feel free to post this on the Opeth board) First off, my use of Opeth's name should not be thought off as 'offensive' or 'unnecessary'. you have to think about my core audience... mostly indie snobs who have no idea about underground metal. Opeth is the biggest band i could use to get people in the musical ballpark with the new Kayo Dot. the new Kayo Dot has next to nothing in common with Opeth, but to your average indie kid, at least they have something to try and compare it with.

i have no problems with Opeth, and musically, i enjoy them. i know people are sick of the motW/Opeth "feud" (if that's what you want to call it) but i in no way meant to perpetuate it by using their name in my review. Opeth kids should actually be happy to know that i had to use the name because of the weight the band pulls in other scenes other than metal...

what i was trying to say before my post went to the big Aggression Core forum in the sky is that the tone of the review seems to be that the members of Kayo Dot fart perfume, shit rose petals, and post surfing-horse pictures, so comparing them to almost ANY band will make the other band come off as "inferior". i don't think it was meant as a specific dis of Opeth.

also, i DO like the album muchly.

Nah, that's ok. I was just overracting anyways. Also, this is only a message-board, so I don't see how some people is complaining is that big a deal. Not like Opeth fans are gonna show up at your house with a blowtorch and a pair of pliers. :heh:
