If I seem unduly quiet today...

It's because my furry friend and companion for the last twelve and a half years (my dog) died this morning *sniff.*

Does anyone have any animal stories to cheer me up?

Well, seeing as noones been able to give you any animal stories to cheer you up, one time when my dog was only a year or so old, it was running around the house REALLY fast and then ran towards the glass door, and didnt stop. It didnt make that mistake again!

Sorry to hear about your dog Wrathy

We have 2 dogs (which are still alive), who are about the same age. Same breed too - German Shorthaired Pointers. Fucking great dogs.

Anyway.. I like to take one of them down to the beach now and then. I went swimming one day, and ti was a bit rough for her so she wasn't interested, so she ran off. I thought fuck, because there were other people about and I thought he might go terrorise them, but instead she went and sat next too my stuff up on the dunes. :)

My brother took the other dog one day, and she started to bark and get real scared of these tiny rocks! They were about the size of your fist.
She apparently got down on her belly and crawled past them - like the little pussy she is.

Wrathchild sorry to here about your dog. No funny Animal stories but a Band it was into a long time ago "Nazerath" had a song called 'Woke this morning ' one of the lines in the song goes as follows : Woke up this morning ,my dog has died , gee I gunna miss him, sat down and cried. Not funny but probably sums up your feelings at the moment.

Thanks folks. That helps. I haven't cried since Darth Vader's cremation scene at the end of Return of the Jedi and I'm not about to start now, but...

Maybe this would be easier to cope with if dogs weren't so much more pleasant to be around than most people (BBers excluded of course).

Bucko, was that the same Nazareth who did Teenage Nervous Breakdown and had some of their albums produced by Roger Glover?

Sorry to hear dude :(

I have a couple of pet stories that may cheer you up though..
- My old male dog used to anally rape my male cat, well at least try... well hang on it isn't rape if the cat seemed to be consenting
- My cats breastfeed off my female (I have it on video)
- My female dog is in love with a teddy bear and constantly makes that bear's leg... well... not dry put it that way. (I have this on video too)

Ok... these are perverted, and yes I have 2 on video...

Sorry to hear that Wrathchild - I have lost 3 dogs over the years, the first quite possibly to vivisectionists, one to cancer, and another to all sorts of health probs. I currently have two nutters, a 2and a half year old Golden retriever called Charlie and a 2year old Black lab called Jack (along with my 12 year old cat Rory). They are quite abnormal as animals go, severely mad, particulary Charlie, whi is the dizzie blond of the canine species. Jack is the thinker, likes to pretend he's more sensible but laughs out loud when he has his belly tickled! Poor Jack has already had 2 operations in his short life for hip displaysia so he's got a rather fetching wiggle now. ;) I don't have any sensible pics of them online yet, but they do have their own website www.reservoirpooches.com :) Not too much on there at the mo, it takes time to work on the photos abd I'm not the one that does all the work (step forward Mark!).

Wow... I so gotta go to your website! HAHAHAHAHA!

Bummer about your dog, Wrathy... I know how you must feel!

Wrathy , I believe Roger Glover did produced two of their songs, Broken Down Angel & Bad Bad Boy which I think are off the 3rd Album "Razamanaz "released in 1973.

Also Jon Lord played paino on Shanhai'd In Shanghai which is from Rampant relaesed in 1975.

I have only a Greatest hits CD , and Vinyl of Play'N' the Game, No Mean City, Malice In Wonderland, Fool Circle and 2XS. I must one day up date the vinyl is CD when I can afford it.

Did'nt know they did Teenage Nervous Breakdown , they do a excellant version of Cocaine live on Fool Circle though. Gee havnt listen to that years - ahhh memories .
