If you appreciate bands like Warhorse, Buried At Sea, Grief, Electric Wizard's Dopethrone, Pelican, etc....do yourself a favor and pick up Ocien Chief's Oden.

I just happened to stumble upon them blindly and I am highly highly impressed. Its so fucking heavy while maintaining a lot of groove. Perfect for them bong sessions.

I actually downloaded it....now I have the fun of trying to find the actual pressing. They have Odin which was released in 2003 and the s/t which was released in 2002. I think they are both demos but they are fucking awesome.

I just found out that the official street date for the re-release of their demo Oden is coming out on March 30, 2004 on Church of Doom records.

Other than Electric Wizard, I don't think I've heard any of these bands yet. I do really want to check out Warhorse.

C'mon get with the program JK. Warhorse are amazing imho...you need to pick up When Heaven Turns To Ash.

Warhorse is like this giant monster chasing after you through the forrest . . . knocking trees over and crushing boulders as it slowly chases you down. When Heaven Turns to Ash is one of my favorite HEAVY doom albums ever.
