If you were to make a devy compilation CD...

01-Truth
02-All hail the new flesh
03-Christeen
04-OM
05-Earth Day
06-Life
07-In the rainy season
08-Ocean machines
09-Noisy pink bubbles
10-Detox
11-underneath the waves
12-Earth day
13-Canada

Actually it would be my best of in 13 tracks
geoff

Just to prevent myself from listing all the Devy tunes out there, I shall do a 10 song compilation...

1. SYL
2. Christeen
3. Earth Day
4. Underneath The Waves
5. Oh My Fucking God
6. Noisy Pink Bubbles
7. Far Beyond Metal
8. Ocean Machines
9. War
10. The Fluke

Decided not to add any SYL. And also tried to leave tracks that pretty much ran into eachother, so as not to add too much of a 'cut and paste' feel.

1.Greetings
2.Regulator
3.Truth
4.Christeen
5.Death
6.Devoid
7.Noisy Pink Bubbles
8.Bastard
9.Ants
10.Hide Nowhere
11.Material
12.Irish Maiden
13.Seventh Wave
14.Dynamics
15.Unity

I actually started to do this once to give a friend a Dev sampler. The initial goal was an introduction to Devin's catalog for a retro dork who basically only liked Duran Duran. It was supposed to happen around the release date of Terria though and even Dev's weak releases have added some vital pieces to the canon. Plus, he'd never be happy. ;)

Anywho... here are the tracks I took down as noteworthy and warranting consideration. I think I'll make it just out of curisosity

SYL
In the Rainy Season
Underneath the Waves
Oh My Fucking God
Detox
Truth
Unity
Life
Night
Hide Nowhere
Voices in the Fan
Funeral
Death of Music
Kingdom
Planet Rain
Christeen
OM
Noisy Pink Bubbles
Earth Day
Deep Peace
Fluke
Nobody's Here

I have actually made a comp. There was a "need" to test out various apps as well as some hardware. So, here we go...
01. SYL (edit)
02. Detox
03. Underneath the Waves
04. Earth Day (edit)
05. OM
06. Kingdom (edit)
07. Hide Nowhere (edit)
08. Night
09. Funeral (edit)
10. Deep Peace (edit)
11. Death of Music
12. Noisy Pink Bubbles

as for the edits... if I hadn't done that I would've had to take something like hide nowhere through greetings to avoid a nasty sounding cut.

Think about it. Ocean Machine and Terria flow well as albums. More than one track contains a transition to/from another. "Hide Nowhere" is a prime example. Just listen to the end of that one without going into "Sister". It cuts out in the middle of the final riff. Hell, the last fraction of a second of "SYL" is actually on "In the Rainy Season".
The originals work well on the albums but honestly... the cut off click at the end pissed me off.

Yeah well you know... I've been collecting dev material since at least 96 so I've got some bombass tracks, yo.
