Illegal downloading.

I download albums before buying them to make sure I really want to buy them. Most bands I listen to are from Europe and it usually costs me 25$ to buy their album, so I make sure it's worth it. I know downloading them on iTunes would cost less but I love having the actual CD with it's artwork and holding it in my hands.

ITT: Redundancy

Download illegally to check if it's good.

Buy said album in CD form.

If not, delete.

I do it, and I like it.

I find other ways to support the band (ie: merch, go to shows, promote)

These two posts (which were on the first page) sum up how 99% of self-respecting metalheads view downloading. Either you buy the album or you support the band in other ways. Anything other than that is just being a dick because you fuck over the band in so many ways. Sure, one purchase may not seem like a lot, but everything adds up.

^^You know kebab really helped us finish all those beers in Helsinki. Well, not you, but Jonathan, I and the rest

Yes, Kebab absorbs stuff already in your stomach and gets you thirsty so It makes you a more effective drinker, hence why it being a traditional festival food. Now, When you getting your ass over here so we can get drunk as fuck?

I actually still buy cds, but I always download first to see if I like it. I don't think downloading is all that bad. Take Alice In Chains for instance. Their newest cd leaked two weeks before the release date but it created such a huge buzz that everyone is taking notice and because they can back it up with good music.

If I can buy it, I won't download it. If it's something that I can't find anywhere I might download it (like some b-side track from old single). I work in software industry and I know what illegal downloading does for business so that's why I avoid doing it (and yes, all software on my computer have been paid or is freeware/open source). But as I know that not all music is made with legal software I found music industry somewhat hypocrite and I really don't care if others are downloading. And I also prefer supporting band through merch and shows.

Money's kinda short and I "need" the Schecter, so I don't think I'll be able to go there till summer. But won't be longer than that, I'm there this summer that's for sure :)

Download a sitload of music and movies/tv shows every day/week/month/year.

Anyhow, i don't buy ovies anymore, but It does happen that i buy a cd once in a while, i bought all bodoms studioalbums after i saw them live, had listen to all of tem before but as downloaded mp3:s. I also have the discografia of the famous rockband kent from sweden. That's about it.

I never buy movies, once you've seen it, its pretty much worthless : /
Same with video games, how they justify $60-$80 for a new game is ridiculous.
