I'm new. Critique my metal track

Hello. Obviously I'm new to this forum. I got into recording about a year ago after being strictly a guitar player of 15 years. I love it. I've tried to learn as much as I possibly can online and from posting in other forums BUT I feel my music will have a much better place here from which I can receive better criticism and critiques.

All of my tracks do not contain vocals for 1. I can't/don't have access to a vocalist and 2. Unfortunately because of that I don't have the experience to do so.

Anyways. Here is a track I've been working on recently. Gear used is in my signature. ANY input is greatly and I mean greatly appreciated. Good or bad. If bad all I ask is to explain why and not "This sucks". If anyone is curious about anything within or about the track feel free to ask. Thanks everyone in advance.

Sounds great for only recording for a year! Pretty great djenty tone. I personally can't stand Superior Drummer 2.0 cymbals, but that may just be a personal problem. Otherwise it sounds great. Are you doing in mastering to the track? I highly suggest getting your hands on Ozone 4.

I agree with you on the cymbals part. I'm using the avatar cymbals only because they are more workable than metal foundry's. If there was an "easy" way to do sound replacement with SD then I would go that route because I've got 5 gigs worth of Slate, Sneap, and Castleman samples that I could use. The only mastering I'm doing is an SSL Comp and Oxford limiter on the master buss. I've actually got Ozone but I've never really messed around with it as far as mastering. What would you suggest I do with it?

I looked through their presets until I found one that sounded just about right and then tweaked it to perfection (at least for my tracks). I'd just suggest experimenting with it. It's a great tool.

Thanks guys. I would love to add vocals but I just don't have the means. I've thought about exporting it out to someone else and let them put their own vocals on it. Haven't found anyone willing to do it and do it well yet though.

Ok. I put 2 more up. I have more but since I've re worked my drums recently I haven't fully mixed them. Don't make fun of the song "Falling". I wrote it almost 10 years ago for one of my bands and I recently re did it. It's very simple and not so now-a-days metal. Haha If that makes sense

Thanks for uploading those, man I really dig your stuff. As I said above, GREAT playing and production and awesome riffage, too!

Thanks dude. It means a lot, taking the time to listen. I've got other songs I'm re working so as soon as I finish them I'll let you know. Thanks again man.

After a few more spins, I agree that there's not really a need for vocals. I like the track and playing as is (I did in the first place as well). Good mix, only thing is maybe make the leads just a bit louder, they sound a little burried to me.
