I'm tired. I think I'll sleep.... on YOUR bed.

I miss my little ewok.

He grew up into a Wampa Hothbeast.

Hey Tamms... there's a brand new mall opening up in... Utica? That is gonna be 100% pet-friendly. It's a pet's mall. You can bring your critters in for your usual shopping. Roger's gonna be there this Thursday for its grand opening.

A few months back, they did a talent search for a mascot dog, for all their advertisements and TV commercials. Roger took Wampa-Boy there, and out of 700+ dogs, he made the top 25 from the first round. The only reason he didn't win the second round, was cuz he wouldn't stick his head out the window of the car as they drove by. Cuz we NEVER let him stick his head out the window! We know how unsafe it is! So he simply refused and laid his head down to snooze. A big ugly drooling bulldog won the talent search cuz the wind made his jowls flap as he drove by.

He's a "rough coat" husky (malamute?)

Alaskan malamute. Of the "wooly" coated variety. Not rough coated at all! His fur is really soft, compared to most sledder dogs who have very durable, coarse protective fur.

And little kids love to hug him. Softer than any teddy bear you've seen.

And he gave me the cold shoulder this morning! Apparently he wanted me to stay home and play with him, cuz this morning he just laid in the living room not looking at me! He doesn't understand bills or paychecks or bass gear purchases though, so I forgive him...

Boy isn't that the truth? They soooooo don't get it. I get the "mommy mommy please don't go" face every single flippin morning AND any time I leave to run errands or what not.

Oh no he doesn't do that every morning, usually he grabs a toy or rope and I gently play with him left-handed as I eat right-handed. Then Roger's up and I split, and all'z good. Today, he was disgruntled with me! I didn't even get my goodmorning growl from him! We usually get a very deep, closed-mouth "wwooooOOOOOOoooo" whenever he sees us in the morning or coming back from somewhere.

I'll take him for an hour-plus walk this afternoon. Let him visit all his fellow doggy friends and play with them for a while.

Yeah, I get wags and kisses when I come back from anywhere.. which get's interesting when the dog is 100+ lbs. You'd think I'd been gone for years... but it's nice when someone is happy to see you :)

OMG isn't that the BEST! Our 2 just started giving hugs. Our first ACD gave hugs from when he was a puppy (stand up on back feet, put paws over shoulders and head on 1 shoulder after face licking of course) but the 2 we have now we adopted as adults and they just started with the hugging. The girl tackles the boy when I get home if his hug is taking too long.

Australian Cattle Dog - AKA Blue Heelers/Red Heelers

Here's one that kinda fits the subject of the thread:

You gotta love the heeler / cattle dogs...very intelligent...a lot of instinct bred in...

Ours is a heeler and (possibly) Shepherd or Collie mix (best as we can tell)...and she's the best, even if she's stubborn at 9 years old.

You can basically have conversations with her...speak with her in a normal voice and she'll tell you what she does and does not want...it's amazing...whenever our friends come over, they're amazed that we communicate with our dog in a normal voice as if we'd talk to anyone else.

A very cool thread...if I knew how to post pics on UM...I'd contribute...dammit!

Rock on!

BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS!! Oh my goodness! I hadn't heard of this particular breed before but
I think I'm in love! ... And I never thought I'd say this, but I miss the snow :erk:

The pics with your kittens plus the fact that you have Babylon A.D. in your recent playlist make you the coolest person I know...

Rock on!

Thanks!
That last picture is one of my favorites in the whole wide world because those kittens were actually homeless strays that I helped when they were first born, but they were still very scared and didn't like being inside. The fact that Amélia was comfortable enough to lay down with her head on my arm and fall asleep meant the world to me. That was the last picture I took of her on the day I had to deliver her to her new home. Such a little princess (though I think she was actually a "he" - shhh!!)

And Babylon A.D. rocks

That is one beautiful malamute. I had one when I was a boy. He had one blue and one brown eye.

I am a pet lover as well. I have five dogs, two cats and one terribly rotten cockatiel.
