so let's say i get into a terrible accident and am knocked unconscious nearly to death and am in a coma for weeks.

do they leave my contact lenses in that whole time to dry up and fuse with my corneas and blind me?! or do they have a step in the procedure where they check, and take them out?

CRUCIAL THREAD, PLEASE RESPOND

Tsk tsk... wearing contacts when you are able to wear glasses. Hah.. no I've heard glasses are a pain in the ass and I can imagine but man do I really adore them. On others and I would love to have them myself (minus the hassle of course).

P.S. As for the question. The bracelet can't hurt and it will be a fun conversation starter.

glasses are awful. i hate having something continually clinging to my face like an alien larva. and i hate not having adequate peripheral vision, and not being able to see well in rain or mist.

they would be checking your eyes at the scene of the accident, and the ER, and every ay several times an hour for signs of stroke or other brain damage, so they'd see the contacts and take them out asap or it would be a medical liability for total negligence. the answer is: don't worry about it at all.

of course, if you did wear a medicalert bracelet because you wear contacts you can assure that the EMT's will laugh at you. and probably write 'wussy wuss' on your face.

i can't imagine anyone getting a medicalert bracelet that said HIV/AIDS, omg imagine the shit they'd catch! what a nightmare.
