i was wondering is anyone in here got it, and what you think, i dont know why everyone is trashing it....i actually like it alot, a lot softer than past albums but still good
The cover art indicates it's a return to old In Flames, but I heard a few songs at youtube and it was complete shit, I was disappointed. Like new In Flames style as shit as it could possibly get. But I have to listen to the album before I trash them down.
If you don't look at it as a death metal album, it's not bad. But if what you want to see is death metal, then go for other CD, because this CD has nothing to do with death metal. What I hope is that the extremely shitty tone of the guitars and general sound it's because of Myspace, because if not then it has extra shit points.
i like the album and it has a special meaning with the lyircs, like a guy trying to find him self and stop letting the world contorl him, its not too bad, ill admit for a person expecting just death metal it will be dissapointing, but for people with an open mind its really good.
I could have settled for Come Clarity ep. II as I actually enjoyed that album but A sense of purpose is so soft it almost sounds like pop (and yes, I'm willingly exaggerating it); Anders can scream/growl very powerfully but insists on those ugly clean vocals instead Also, the guitar sound is sloppy and totally not-heavy.
I wasn't expecting much when I heard the single about a month ago, and I'm glad I didn't because otherwise I would be very dissapointed right now (is that how you spell dissapointed? )
edit: The songs are really good musically, but I think Anders managed to ruin them with his EXTREMELY annoying new vocals.
I like it. I like come clarity more, but I'm not disappointed at this new album. I think anders frieden has a beautiful clean voice, and it's good to hear him singing in this new album, not only screaming.
