I remember really liking the stuff I heard from them, and went and bought an album I found. It turns out that Come Clarity was probably not what I was looking for.

What am I looking for? In other words, best In Flames album please.

Lunar Strain/Subterranean and The Jester Race/Black-Ash Inheritance are probably the only IF releases that don't have significant amounts of filler. That being said, there's probably 4-6 songs I really enjoy on all the albums up to and including Reroute to Remain.

I'm saying Clayman. It's my favorite. Now you have basically every In Flames album before Reroute to Remain listed, which are all the best albums. So you can't go wrong.

What are the filler songs on Whoracle?

Other than Jotun, Jester Script Transfigured, Worlds Within the Margin, and Everything Counts, the rest of the album doesn't do much for me. I find fan-favorites like Gyroscope and Episode 666 to be especially tiresome.

Everything up to Colony is worth listening to. I don't really like Colony at all anymore but a lot of people consider it to be one of their better albums. The Jester Race is their magnus opus but I sometimes listen to Whoracle because the melodies are so catchy.

Pretty much a good call all around. Embody The Invisible on Colony is one of their best songs ever, and Resin is good too.
