Well, I don;t know if you are into prog/power metal bands, but there are a shitload of bands in this genre... Brazil has a HUGE power metal scene..

I recently heard some mp3s of this band called Dark Avenger and was floored. Excellent power/heavy metal with a killer vocalist. If you like Kiske, Dickinson or Marcolin (Candlemass) you have to check this band out. Just listen to "Caladvwch" and "The White Of Your Skin" and you'll be downloading all the songs.
