INSTRUMENTALS THREAD

are you familiar with Colored Sands from Gorguts? Its basically the cream of the crop as far as dissonant technical death metal goes. Definitely give that album a shot.

I watched a video of Colin Marston performing all the bass parts the entire album in one swing. Its not Obscura, but Colored Sands is fucking high caliber technical/avant garde death metal.

Awesome

And yeah, there will never be another Obscura, that would literally be impossible.

That being said its time to post this...

Back when i was super into djent, I discovered this guy. Its a really cool way to see the djent sound put into industrial metal use.

Also, in a sort of related way, Fredrick Thordendal's track on Wolfenstein

Sounds like a riff Dave would write too. Funnily enough, he didn't.

The Duke Nukem crew beat it to em.

The Doom soundtrack guys just ripped off a bunch of metal bands, but in the best ways possible.

Did anybody check this out in 2017 when it dropped? Was in my top 10 briefly for that year, really cool instrumental progressive/technical death metal from Russia featuring the drummer from the last two Hieronymus Bosch albums, guitarist from Bestial Invasion and bassist from Irreversible Mechanism. Also the guitarist has his own solo project, also mostly instrumental, with a second album out this year that looks promising:
