To be fair, most of that first AAL album is pretty void of djent riffs. Weightless and so on are the more djent based release.

i actually have Weightless and The Joy of Motion and those are much more progressive if anything. I remember hearing way more djent on the S/T. I could be wrong though.

You could be right. Its been a while since I listened to any sort of AAL.

All I know is that recently John Mayer was showing Tosin how to do some backbeat funk/jazz on Tosin's 8 string, hahah.

He's a pretty inventive guitarist I think. He has a lot of unique techniques up his sleeves. Hes just a super douche is all.
