Interface problems.

So this may go without saying, but I have been having issues with my line 6 UX1. I've been trying to use it as simply an interface since getting PODFarm to sound good is beyond my current mixing abilities. I've used Lepou Plugins, EZMix, etc. But nothing seems to help.
So i'm wondering if its the interface or is it something I should work around. Most have recommended I get a Scarlett 2i4 since I am using an Ibanez Iron Label RG to record. What do you guys think?

I really don't think the interface matters all that much when you are going direct in the scenario you describe and in the price range you're looking at. If you were looking for good converters for example if you were going to be recording an acoustic piano or something then ya, but I don't think in your case the interface has all that much to do with your issues. (I say this as someone who has owned cheap $100 interfaces and $2k and above stuff).

A Scarlett 2i4 is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade in your case.

What issues are you specifically having? If you post some files here then some people may be able to analyze what is going on.

I find that most "doesn't sound good" issues are related to comparing a full mix done by others to a single guitar plugin and expecting it to match.

All interfaces around that price range have roughly similar quality preamps, and as SendFire said, it won't really matter if you're going direct. Post some clips, and make sure above all that your DIs aren't clipping on the way into the POD or the DAW. And stop using EZMix

Those are clips made with POD Farm. And I havent really used EZmix. Just happened to get it since my friend didn't want it. And some recommended it for guitar tones. But if it's just a side grade, I might just try to keep working on mixing. Ive used some things I learned online but most of the information i've gotten is along the lines of 'do this' and not giving an explanation on why. Like why would I boost a frequency or scoop somewhere. I've asked on Ultimate-Guitar.com but only got links to an old thread with all the photos and clips now deleted or they act like I have mental disabilities for even asking for help.
