I've heard a little bit of Buried In Oblivion, only like 30 seconds or less out of a few songs. I don't really like it, to me it sounds like they're just practicing thier scales, especially in the first track. i like technical stuff in metal but not when its like that. also the other stuff i'v eheard sounds like power metal metalcore. maybe i just listened to bad songs or need to listen more.

Well they had a drummer when I saw them last, the same drummer they have always had on the albums, Jim. He is recording on the new album, I dont know if he will be doing anymore touring with them though.

Nope. He's just doing those dates and recording the album, according to him. The original reason he quit was because he couldn't handle the touring schedule and pay his bills.

Are you kidding? I love the way BiO sounds - it's so raw and in your face. It sounds like a band instead of a million tracks of studio work. Of course, I'm getting tired of Sneap - he's good, but does he have to do EVERY band?

(Not Andy's fault - and more power to him - for being in demand now, but I haven't liked his latest work as much as stuff like "Dead Heart".)

but into eternity is definately one band that sounds great despite a nasty recording. music is amazing and amazing skill in the band. tim is one of those guitar gods like loomis. tim's guitar is just an extention of his body. just sick to watch live.

He's a really, really good player. So is Rob.

Of course, I'm getting tired of Sneap - he's good, but does he have to do EVERY band?" - that is the uniqueness of the album, but here's what i hate about it, it does have a bunch of takes/tracks, but they aren't mixed well. it is something you could get used to. mixing problems with the drums are apparent too. furthermore they need a better kit sound and better guitar tone. not saying it has to sound like TGE or anything close (it won't). i would hate that.

i'm tired of that studio sound as well, so i also agree with you. dead heart is my favorite sneap record i've ever heard as well. TGE sounds a bit overdone and artificial, which dead heart doesn't. same goes for his work with arch enemy and such.

remember, sneap isn't recording their album, he's just mixing it. they are getting a local guy to record the album. (compare EoR (remixed) to TGE)

It sounds like they ran out of budget on the mix, which happens. I think the tones are OK, they're just a bit jaggedly mixed in spots. However, the overall feel of the mix of the album reflects the band pretty well, I think.

Actually, Sneap mixed one of my favorite discs form last year (Biomechanical's "The Empires of the World"), and that sounds pretty different, so you may be right.

they may have ran out of budget or it could have been other things (possibly poor equipment?), but the fact is, that's how it came out. also i notice it least when the guitars do higher pitched stuff. but when the guitars are doing rhythm on the lower strings it sounds very muddy and "jagged". i feel like i can hear all (or at least most) the guitars they used to overdub, overdubs shouldn't sound like an overdub, but rather give the impression that it is one instrument. that's usually a mixing and recording issue (bad take?) im' sure the IE guys just did a few takes for each guitar track and played through the song. i find nothing wrong with this, but if you are gonna put in overdubs don't have them sound as they do. if this is the case, they probably said 'eh it's good enough' because of a budget issue as well. i doubt CM gave them a large budget either, but it seems they are giving them a bit more credit these days, just look who they are touring with and andy sneap mixing it's gonna be a kick ass effort i'll say that.
