This album BLOWS AWAY the '86 'Seventh Star' record!

Although it's only 8 songs long, each (literally) is a gem unto itself!
Early favorites are:
"Time Is The Healer" - this is the best song Soundgarden never wrote!
"Gone" - awesome riff!

Hughes is a great vocalist, and his work with Deep Purple is classic!

NEXT UP ON THE AGENDA: Deep Purple - 30th Anniverary Edition of the 1974 classic BURN!

The Soundgarden comparison makes me shiver, I was about to get it, but now I'm dubious

It's not a problem.

soundgarden was a complete Sabbath rip-off. Total Iommi worship.
The vocals sound like the guy from Soundgarden on that one song....but it's AWESOME!
I'm looking for this record over the weekend for sure. Don't mind the other guys, they like what they like & that's fine. me on the other hand? I'm stoked!:p

I'm listening to this record right now, as I type this.

It's AWESOME! It's easily the best thing Iommi's done since "Born Again", IMO.

The sound, in a nutshell, is as follows:
- heavy, bluesy riffs. This is much heavier than 7th Star.
- the opening tune has a perfect "Sabbathy" riff
- the vocals are awesome! I love Hughes work in Deep Purple, but have never really heard any of his solo records. I think I now have to!
- just great songwriting, overall.

It's a perfect mix of 70s, 80s & 90s heavy blues rock/metal.
