7th Son is the best Maiden album IMO. I just wish Maiden would see that as well. Seems they never play much from that album live, maybe its because Bruce can't do it? I would like to see THE IRON MAIDENS do more from that album too, especially Infinite Dreams and 7th son of a 7th son!

I agree Chickinson. I like the pre-7th Son material best too, although that was a great tour to see them on! The 'Maidens' setlists have been great, no newer stuff needed IMO.

i don't know how old are u but i'm 20, and i consider all first 7 albums great,
when Piece of mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in time and 7th son one level above the rest

Here's how I rank 'em:

1. Brave New World / Dance Of Death / Powerslave (Tie)
4. The Number Of The Beast
5. Somewhere In Time / Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (Tie)
7. The X Factor
8. Iron Maiden / Piece Of Mind (Tie)
10. Killers / Fear Of The Dark (Tie)
12. No Prayer For The Dying / Virtual XI (Tie)

Love 'em all though. Voted for BNW.

Although I think Powerslave or Piece of Mind are probably their best efforts, my favorite is the first album. Powerslave got me into Maiden in '84, but then I went and bought the first album vinyl and became completely hooked. Love the guitar sound. Remember Tomorrow quickly became and still is my all-time favorite Maiden song. So many killer tunes on this one! Phantom, Prowler, Transylvania, Strange World, Iron Maiden are huge faves as well. Up the Irons!:worship:

I just voted for POM. Bought it the day it came out and it still blows me away. In my opinion it was the hardest sounding album. I felt that the sound started to be a little less heavy on Powerslave, with the exception of "Two Minutes to Midnight" and "Aces High" I did not like Somewhere in Time and wished that they had kept the real heavy sound of the earlier recordings. They were at the top of their game then, definetly.Steve Harris has said that alot of people in America say Powerslave is the best album, but he says that POM was "intense and epic" and I totally agree.
