Iron Maiden- The Final Frontier video

This is kind of bland for Maiden and i'm a fan of the last 3 CD's. It's about as paint-by-numbers as you can get.
El Dorado at least has different musical parts to it, this is like Iron Maiden gone AC/DC! :P

Agreed, but in fairness, the album version of the song is 8:40 (according to the tracklisting on Encyclopedia Metallum) so I'm hoping that they just chopped out the interesting parts to make a video-friendly single...

Yeah, but so are a lot of the more popular Maiden songs. I actually like it. Not my favorite Maiden song by a long shot though. I think the soloing in the middle is pretty cool actually. Like PureXL said as well though, the track listing is much longer, so that could very well change. I don't honestly know why Maiden does videos anymore. They don't help their popularity and sell more albums honestly. This video I found incredibly distracting with the sound effects mixed with music. It was one thing at the start of the video and maybe at the end when the planet blew up, but a lot of the song was hard to actually hear the music.

Hmmm I dont see what all the complaining is about (esp the goons who post at blabbermouth). Sounds like a good tune to me. *shrugs*

Sounds good to me too.

That's two songs in a row now where Bruce maintains his upper range throughout the song.

Oh well.....

Maiden could release another Piece of Mind and people will still complain. Screw em!

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a hater and definitely not one of the blabbermouth mentality (I know what you are talking about)...but structurally I think El Dorado is a more interesting song than this one, and seeing it's run time I figured this would be even more intricate. I guess I have liked the more prog approach that Maiden takes these days. I am still buying the CD on day one. Maybe it's like suggested that the interesting parts were edited out for video length.

Sounds like the followup of Virtual X!

Must of missed that one.

I've never been a fan of their videos and this one is no different. I think that in 5 years the animation will look ridiculous like the video for The Angel and the gambler looks now.

I can't bring myself to have an opinion on the song since half of it was edited for this clip. Is the rest of the song just Bruce repeating "The final frontier" on the chorus 16 more times? Is there a bad ass instrumental midsection a la Maiden? We don't know. I want to hear the whole album before I post my opinion on it.

I think if any other band had released this song as a single, it would've gotten no attention whatsoever.

The song just doesn't go anywhere, and that chorus - come on!

In fairness as people have said, the full song is over 8 and half minutes. However, the song title is also different, so I imagine a decent chunk of that is a long intro

Boring song. :(
Yeah .. it's a bore. The video was bad as well. I think it's now confirmed ... I'm done with new Maiden.

I was jacked when Bruce came back, but each release has been a dropoff since BNW. I don't have expectations for this new one. I don't care for this song, and I didn't care for Eldorado either. If this is the best material they can come up with I won't be missing much if I just skip this release.
