I'm really excited about this one! I finally get to play an event in two different bands with Sara! :headbang: On Friday Sara and I will play with our Ozzy trib, The Little Dolls, and Sat with the wonderful Maidens! We know quite a few of the other girls in the other bands so it will be nice to see so many familiar faces in one place playing metal together all weekend long! :headbang:

Damn, I'm gutted .... My g/f and I start vacation later that week, so a roadtrip that weekend is NOT in the cards.

Party on, gals & guys.

Damn! Damn, damn!

I can't make it. I have a military obligation that weekend. I swear - all the great things I have to pass up by being a soldier. I just missed my anniversary with my wife because of the Army, too (the second one in a row - we haven't had an anniversary together yet).

Well, I hope you ladies have a great time, and I really hope you come up to see us in the Northwest again very soon!

Well, Rya all we can say is thanks to your and your wife for your sacrifice. As far as your anniversary is concerned - remember the old saying: Third time's the charm! :p

In all seriousness, though, we know a little bit of how you feel - it's like that for musicians, too. We usually work when the rest of the world plays - though we don't have to dodge bullets for a living - just an occasional beer bottle! :zombie:

Well, my "sacrifice" hasn't been nearly as much as many others, and so far it hasn't included dodging many bullets, so I can't complain too much. It just sucks that I've missed out on scores of concerts and family events because of it. I always look forward to seeing The Iron Maidens live. There's never a dull moment. :D

The good thing is that you will be able to look back upon your military experience for the rest of your life as a source of great pride.

I got out slightly over 21 years ago and I still remember my service and still participate in military reunions and whatnot. I have absolutely no reservations about having served and the benefits it gave me for college and leadership skills that I learned there really helped me be so successfull in life.

I got out 35 years ago .... Egads, I'm ancient! Although I hated almost every moment of it, I did learn some important lessons of self-reliance, and that there is little I can't do or endure.

I did get to visit some interesting places: Hiroshima (bomb museum), Great Buddah at Kamakura, Castle Odawara museum on Lake Hokone, a tramlift over an active volcanoe, and an hour in Pearl Harbor where we got so drunk we could hardly make it back to the ship.

Additionally I learned why Adak, Alaska is NOT a prime tourist spot and how much fun can be had chasing the Russian Fleet off Kamchatka during their War games. I have endured Typhoons at sea, being Dead-in-the-water, and how lovely on-board food gets after you've run out of fresh supplies.

I have seen the Gulf of Tonkin when it was a smooth as glass, and had to hide out in the Ginza bars while the Japanese rioted over Nuclear US-Ships in their ports. I couldn't get back on base for several hours .... I might have been drinking. Go figure.

Still, I feel it was a valuable experience.

Same here. The Army has been good to me - $80,000 for college, plus the kind of experience on active duty and the reserves which has landed me a well paying civilian job recently. Plus, like Swan mentioned, the benefit of seeing places I'd never have visited on my own.

Now, if only I can get orders for an assignment to follow the Maidens on tour. :kickass:

I will try to find out more details but so far I do know that The Iron Maidens are going on after Kittie and before Doro. Vixen will be closing the night. We go on at 9:30pm - just after it gets nice and dark! Muahahaha!! I'm not sure about Friday's line up with The Little Dolls, but I think we go on at 11:00PM.
I'm trying to find out more info on the other bands slated to play still like when Girlschool is on.

 Wow, Danny. Thank you very much for that comment! It is probably one of the most flattering types of comments one could ever wish for and one that really makes one feel like you are accomplishing what you set out to do with your life which, to me, is to reach other people and inspire, motivate and impact them in a positive way with music, and of course have a good time with it. Thank you again, Danny. :) You should come up!!
