Iron Maidens to play the PowerBox Fest!

For all of us that are going to make it to the Powerbox fest, we should get together and take over the front of the crowd when the Maidens come up. Either way I would like to meet some of the peeps on here.

I still can't get used to the phrase "beer garden". But I guess it sounds better than "alchoholic beverage quarantine quadrant". Or the "alchoholic arena".
"Beer garden" is actually a correct phrase, and it's quite old. I've spent the past two years studying beer history at school, and it's really interesting how the beer industry was incorporated into the daily fabric of family social life with huge beer gardens owned by breweries with theme parks. Beer gardens hosted family-oriented social events daily (and huge ones on the weekends) until Prohibition. After that, the traditional beer garden never returned. Nowadays, what is called a beer garden is actually like you said - a separate area (outdoors, usually) for just drinking beer without intermingling in the all ages area. It's still a correct term, but it's a sad truth of our society and how we demonize drinking alcohol instead gracefully accepting it and promoting responsibility.

Interesting - thanks for the history lesson, Rya! So that's how Busch Gardens came to be? A beer garden disguised as a theme park - talk about product placement! Kinda like junk food masquerading as health food!

Hope you all have kick ass shows,:headbang: I'm jealous the weather here sucks three days of rockin music in clean air, WOW When does that ever happen in L.A.(clean air).
God Bless, Have a safe trip and remember to party like the rock stars you are.:kickass:

Very interesting show and weekend! Good to see you again Stone. :saint: Thanks for everything! We met lots of interesting people and saw a lot of really good fellow female bands. The air was wonderful to breathe and the scenery was fantastic!!!

Your welcome Linda and thank you to all for letting me hang it was quite enjoyable! And remember ladies, if there is a venue that doesn't carry the Heiny and your up in my neighborhood, you know who to call upon(and no it's not Underdog). :headbang: :loco:

And a thanks to Mark and Chris also for allowing me to be helpful. :kickass:

Oh yea, duh, that was a kickass show ladies and anybody who missed the show missed out on alot of other good bands. To let you know how the crowd was it good for the MAIDENS and DORO, but decent or not for the others unfortunately because there were some good sounds coming from the other bands. Like BENEDICTUM for one. That was some good loud music.

A lot of estrogen was happening in them thar hills! It was a fun show - and I enjoyed seeing and meeting all the other bands and musicians. It was good to see you, Stone - thanks so much for all your help. It was so crazy at the end I didn't get a chance to thank you before we left.

No worries Aja, I was back there when things were going crazy. I understand completely.

And Wanda, As good as all your other performances were at previous shows, I will have to say that this was your best that I have seen! Great Job! Keep UP THE IRONS!
