irregular metre

could anyone recommend some good metal (or not) songs that make a lot of use of irregular metres or frequent time signature changes?
im currently learning about it at school and i need some examples. thanks for any help.

"Blackened" by Metallica has both. I'm also thinking of Meshuggah, but I'm not very big on them, so I can't recommend any specific songs.

When you say irregular meter do you mean compound meter like 6, 9, and 12 beats, or do you mean irregualar as in 5, 7, and 10??

when ever you hear a song conected into 3 bars. Its irregualr meter.

Check out Gorguts, Spiral Architect, Symphony X. That is off the top of my head...Rush have some songs that are pretty crazy (but sound really sweet).

Actually most Meshuggah is in 4/4 with superimposed over the barline phrasing. You need to check out Rush (early), Dream theatre, Mahavishnu Orchestra, UK(w/Jobson/Holdsworth), Frank Zappa, Spastic ink, Planet X, Spiral Architect, and Cynic...

yeah, Dillinger Escape Plan is a good one, look for bands in the "math music" genre it's like extremely syncopated and irratic hardcore, but played extremely tight
