Is it just me or does it seem like Symphony X is really starting to build a following? It seems that on many boards, folks who previously had no interest in this band have been converted by "The Odyssey". I imagine the Blind Guardian tour has also been incredibly helpful, as should be the Stratovarius tour in Europe. It's good to see these fellow Jersey boys finally getting their just due.

I'm sure here in Italy a great part of the audience will be there more for Symphony X than for Stratovarius.

DT on February in Milan made +8000 persons...

Definitely just the beginning, especially in the US.
I've already gotten one of my buds here into them, he has V and The Odyssey and is waiting on DWOT and LoTEOF from amazon.
I've been campaigning back home with email too. I don't know if I have had success or not with that yet.
But it is definitely awesome that they are getting some recognition!

WOOHOO! But I'm kind of glad they're not TOO recognized... I'm proud of being Symphony's fan. I want to be known as one of the few loyal fans of Symphony in US judged by how long I actually was their fan. So by the time they get even more famous in US, I'll be a Symphony elite (hahahahaha).

I discovered SymX last Spring when I found "Live on the edge of forever" in the CD bin at my local shop. And now after the Odyssey I have become an ardent supporter/follower of the band. I hope they can climb at least as high as DT in the States. I don't think it will be a problem.

Indeed! Things are looking up here with such great labels as Inside Out America and the efforts of Glenn Harveston (ProgPower USA).

I think The Odyssey is tapping into a whole new group of fans, possibly younger ones, thanks to the heavier direction.

which is great.

I agree... plus Inside Out America is doing a much better job than Metal Blade did with "V". MB didn't promote that thing at all.
