Is Return of the Killer A's a Weak CD?

I'm not talking about the music quaity (I love it), but yesterday, I was carefully puting the CD back in my CD case and the edge snapped off in two places at once. I haven't moved this CD much I've moved it from a ase to CD payer 2 or 3 times, but has this happened to anyone else? I've seen a recall on a PC game because of defects in the manufacturing of the CD, but has this happened to anyone else?

I have a cat, but I keep my CD's away from him.
I did have a few old games scrathced while lying out. It's like divots on a golf course... Why does he have to walk on my CD's with his claws out!
