Heard a lot of talk about the Metal Pack for the XT.

Does anyone have it, and does it do as it says on the tin?

Specifically after the Engl model.

Cheers.

my efforts to make the engl sims sound good on the pod never quite seemed up to par compared to thier criminal model (5150) plus you get the big bottom which line 6 say is a moded dual rec and that sounds awesome :headbang:

my advice is to just get a X3 if you can afford it as it has ALL the model packs installed....That is if your set on using Line 6

I think its pretty good, with impulses you can get some really usable results.I agree, I prefer the criminal model but the engl has its charm...Its on sale at the moment aswell and with comes with a 30 day money back deal...

I thought thr X3 had it's fair share of problems? Have these been ironed out?

I use the Diamondplate (Triple Recto model) on my songs, but I can easily tweak the Dual Rectifier model to sound 95% exactly like the Diamondplate. I´m not sure if I would buy the metal pack today, as I could be happy only with the Dual model. Anyway, I think that the BigBottom is the biggest deal, as it has lots of character and no real amp sound like it IMO.

I love the Diamondplate model. That's my main high gain tone from the XT. I've had good success with the Diezel models as well, and I like the Uber even though I haven't managed to coax a tone from it that I'd use consistently. I don't like the 5150 model at all, actually, though many others love it. I think the Marshall Jubilee model is part of the metal expansion as well, and I use that quite a bit.

It's worth it, I think.

It's definitely worth it! I wouldn't say it's as necessary as some people insist it is, but there are a lot of good amp models in there. I've taken to the Bogners myself.

I haven't had any trouble with mine. The only complaint I have is that the Gearbox update isn't out yet, but that should be happening fairly soon I think.

Where do you guys find the $25 price? I just looked at the line6 site and it still says $49 on the model pack page.....

Select that you're buying it for the guitarport. Register the license and install it on your podxt.

am i the only one horridly impressed with theXT metal pack?
maybe its my setup. but they all sounded fuzzy and distant, even through impulses, never sounded anywhere close to a real amp :s

i think its cus i like a mild bit of clang in the sound (check out..urm.. i guess www.myspace.com/architectsuk ? first one that comes to mind... check out anything of ruin).. and i cant get anything useable like that out of the xt :(

I was about to make this thread.

A friend of mine is sending me his unused Toneport GX and I'm thinking about buying the metal pack.
