I have a Floyd Rose Tremolo fitted guitar (factory fitted) and i have been looking at replacing the stock pickups with SDs. Most shops i emailed said i would want a trembucker as oposed to a humbucker since it is a FRT guitar.

But measuring the current pickups, they are actually humbuckers. So i doubt trembuckers would fit.

Is there a rule/bad results to be expected if i put HBs in on a FRT guitar?

Trembuckers are recommended since their pole spacings line up better with the Floyd, other than that they are just slightly wider than standard humbuckers. You can probably get away with using standard humbuckers, but why not just use trembuckers since their is no price difference between the two?

Well, thats what i thought. But then, the manufacturer put hums in.....so, wouldnt they know better....Just trying to work out why they would put hums in a FRT guitar during manufacturing.
