So I'm in the market for a new amp. Currently, I have nothing to play through but a Sansamp, and it's driving me batty. I was all set to plunk down the money for a 6505+, but I decided to go to a local shop to check out a few things before I made my final decision. I plugged into the new Dual Rec, and the 5150III, and I was actually pretty blown away by both of them. Now I'm REALLY undecided.
The reason I'm having such a hard time, is because the amp is going to be used almost exclusively for recording and reamping, which is difficult to test in a music store. Of the three (6505+, 5150III, Dual Rec) the one that I liked the best as far as a live 'playing' tone was the 5150III. But I'm having a hard time trying to figer out which one will give me the best raw recording tone? I have some experience recoding the Recto and the 6505, but I've never recorded a 5150III.
I know this is pretty subjective, but I'd appreciate any opinions that you guys might have. I'll be using it mostly for old school thrash / hardcore rythm stuff (think 'Hatebreed' meets 'Sick of It All' meets old school 'Sepultura').
Thanks
Bobby

(hell, pretty much all aspects of the production of that album are stellar)
