I bet Thomas Miller wrote the lyrics. The song is based on a tale or what? Any idea?

Hmm, I don't know either. The lyrics make it seem like it was based on a story or tale of some sort though. If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say something by Edgar Allen Poe, because the ST album came out pretty shortly after Dark Chapter, which had a LOT of Poe influence.
