Is there any chance to get a job in the us/canada?

awww! :) *hugs*

Yeah stay strong. Long hair should never come between you and a good job John. (plus, I like your hair and I don't want you to cut it  )

Q: what do you do now? i.e.: college/ work/ what's your future plan?

Next week is finals then I'm out of high school. I used to work at Pizza Hut but I hated it. Not smart enough for college nor can I afford to go there so...hopefully just find a job somewheres and get an apartment with my friends.

if you only knew the intelligence level of the average college kids these days...

I am shocked most of them can even remember to go to classes each day (although many of them indeed can not)

Research shows only 31% of current college graduates can read and comprehend a block of text from a book.

It's the same here. About 70% would be better doing other things with their time, but sadly the emphasis on having a degree, regardless of what it is or where from, has ensured that pretty much everyone is encouraged to go into higher education.

Being a gentleman and professional will always impress...your qualifications are there to back you up; they aren't who you are. Keep plugging away, John!

I worked as a quality assurance engineer, uhm. 8 years before... it was my last "normal" job. (at uproar.com it was an american company)
since that I'm working as a photographer (concert photography is the hobby part of it), and a journalist (not in the rock business). But I don't think that anybody wants a woman who writes very well in Hungarian and makes mistakes in English :DDD
I'm thinking about it about one and a half year, I don't see any chance to have a good life in my country.

Hi Faffy, you can come to work here in the cayman islands easily and depending on what field you work in you will make lots more money than you would in Canada/US. There are many canadians, americans, and eastern europeans here. I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago but I have been living and working in Grand Cayman since March '07. If you are interested, check out http://www.newresident.ky/ for more info or you can ask me.

Faffy: you'll need to get an employer that will "sponsor" you and give you a work visa.
I would recommend finding hungarian companies or even at the embassy and try your luck there. You never know; sometimes they are actually looking for people: and if you tell them you are already planning to move: a lot of times it saves the company time and money to 'bring' a person in. Start with your own "people" because most likey they will hire you, as a Hungarian over other who are not.

You absolutely must find a work visa. (or someone you can marry haha!)

As far as English: I disagree with everything above: you will not have to be 100% perfect in English. As long as you can get by, and write good emails/ papers at work and converse intelligently: you'll be fine.
Some mistakes here and there are not a problem....

Hey if you find work at the embassy you might be moving to my area
Good luck!!!

I think living here is great. Definitely not everything is perfect here, like Chris said: but I love it

yeah, it would be the only chance. as a tourist sometimes really hard to get visa to the us (sometimes they want to know your asshole's size). maybe next year we (hungarians) won't need visa. as I know to go to canada a little bit easier. (haha, one husband was more than enough)

but if I would have a chance to move somewhere else for a few months I wouldn't hesitate

Yeah, I can understand that. Canada may be easier indeed... but your best luck is to search for Hungarian companies.
When you're a European citizen, you only get a 3 months stamp, but if you have a VISA it gives you double that time with the option to extend it...
so a Visa my be the way to go (as a tourist that is...)
