isolation headphones for drummers

I really like the Vic Firth drummer headphones. they are a little brighter sounding than the sony 4602's that I normally use the they don't leak at all and drummer love them. they are only about 40-45 usd here in the states

We just bought those Vic Firth's for our drummer just to try them out, and it didn't turn out to be a good choice. I haven't tried them myself, but our drummer used them a couple of times and actually went back to using plugs inside isolated ear protectors. He said the Firths sounded like shit.

I have a pair of the Extreme Isolation headphones. I really like them, the sound isolation is great. The only complaint I have is that they have the wires from both sides instead of just the left and the wire is thin like a pair of regular consumer phones would be. They sound pretty good as well.

Freakin' awesome to use when positioning microphones as well. The cut out A LOT of sound.

i have vic firths myself and havent had any complaints yet. the day people dont leave headphones lying on the floor, ill shell out for some really nice cans. til then the vic firths do the trick and at $44.95(they lowered the price) they are a steal and you dont mind them getting banged up. they dont put out alot of bass, but i think they sound ok. they also get plenty loud through my rolls mixer, i mean loud. im a drummer and play pretty hard and sometimes they can be too loud and i have to turn them down. if you want to spend around $100.00, the sennheiser hd280s are great. decent isolation and great sound for tracking.

I got my Firth's for like $20 at cost from Guitar Center...

Fuck paying all that extra $$$ for the Extreme Isolations.. if you're just tracking drums, you dont need ultra clarity, although, I have no issues wit these things anyways.

I dont treat them well, I throw them around, and t hey've lasted me a year already with no hitch.

They're the only Vic Firth product I even own, if that tells you anything... and it should.
