IMO "Pleading for Preservation" is the best song of the bunch. It's quite a bit different from "Focus"-era Cynic.

That's what I think but others on here probably beg to differ.

This material is pretty different sounding. It's more fast progressive death/thrash as opposed to the almost funky grooves of the album. The 91 demo has 2 songs from "Focus" that are pretty different from the album versions. They're a lot more chaotic and a good deal more technical but ultimately I prefer album versions because they work better as songs. The only demos you really need are the ones from 90 and 91.
