It's a 'BAND' recommendation forum, so...

King Crimson-Red
Camel-Mirage, Moonmadness. The Snowy Goose too, but I'd say it's the weakest of their 70s prog stuff. Still nice though.
Mirage is brilliant.
Yes-Close to the Edge, Relayer(has been ages since I listened to either, but they're considered prog rock classics).

ooooh, now i get it. i thought you were trying to be funny. you should have specified album recs
~gR~

King Crimson ~ In the Court of the Crimson King & Red
Camel ~ The Snowy Goose, Harbour of Tears (Their 90's albums are very underrated in my opinion)
Yes ~ Don't listen to Yes much, but both of DarkBliss's recommendations are very good.

I also recommend listening to Van der Graaf Generator if you don't already, one of the darker classic prog bands with a great singer.

I'm very interested in hearing them myself. Ordered one of their albums--Pawnhearts. What else would you recommend from them?

Godbluff is my favourite, followed by H to He, Who Am the Only One and Still Life. Pawn Hearts is really good though.

Why not get it from the internet? I might get it myself actually.

That's my sore spot, so to speak. I made several internet transactions that didn't conclude well, so I'm shunning net shopping out of principle. The majority of stuff that's in print I can get through stores, and if not, then I'll get on well without it until it becomes available.

By the way, I'm interested in some KC recs too. I've heard In the Court of the Crimson King (awesome), In the Wake of Poseidon (pretty boring), Larks' Tongues in Aspic (definitely boring), and Red (decent). I'm not too eager to go through their whole discography, since I've heard they did a lot of weird shit that wasn't that good... or even necessarily music. So are there any other 'classic' albums besides In the Court and Red?
