It's Been Slow Around Here...

Hey Matt -

I've been keeping really busy... recording the "new" Division CD which should be done in a month or so (release date TBA). I'm also recording and producing the next Twisted Tower Dire CD (Remedy Records) which is taking up all my free time. Both are sounding great, though, I can't wait for you all to hear them...

Cheers!

Matt

I've been doing the same old same old. You know, locking myself in my closet for hours with stacks of gay porn and a box of tissues.

I sure hope my wife deosn't come home from work early again. It was really difficult to explain the last time that occurred.

I've been super busy myself. Work has been nuts lately with tons of stuff to do. Then all the stuff I have going on away from work. Odin's Court has been jamming on new material - full on electric and even acoustic. Our next album will probably be an acoustic EP. We currently plan on about 30 minutes with 2 remakes from our first album and a few new ones. We'll see how things shape up.

@Matt -

Cool! New Division already!??!?! That's great! I guess the fact that Trinity was in the works for what - 4 or 5 years before release? - gave you a lot of time to come up with additional new stuff. I can't wait! Any indication as to the direction? Typical Division, or exploring a new area?

Twisted Tower Dire - are they DC/VA/MD local? I think one of their band members was at your last show with LaCuna Coil. What style are they?

@RussAss - :yow: :tickled: You're always good for a laugh!

Twisted Tower Dire are all in Virginia for now. They are traditional metal in the vein of Maiden, Priest etc. They are signed in Europe and Japan, and hopefully they'll have something in the States this time around.

They play very few shows here, occassionally Richmond or Baltimore, but they mainly concentrate on the festivals here and overseas. They are the band that I went to Germany with last year to play the Metal Bash and Wacken Open Air festivals.

Two of them came out to the last show. Marc their drummer left as soon as we played. Tony, their singer, stuck around until the end of the night. Tony is in Germany right now singing for Ballistic (feat. Tom Gattis). He's doing a club date with Death Angel and then the Headbangers Open Air festival.

You're new EP sounds like it will be very cool. Any idea on a release date?

Well, Crooks gave you most of the scoop on Division news... but I'll add more

As far as our upcoming sound - hmmm, HEAVY AS SH*T! I think the new stuff will be more focused than ever - tight, thick, & heavy bottom end and our parts are going to be locked together.... I guess this is more of a desciption of our new band chemistry. The rest is top secret :)

Personally, i've just been working more, running more (will do some 5k races soon), lifting less, and eating lots of ice cream.

:headbang:Sweet! :headbang:

:kickass:

I've been around but unfortunately the UM board is dead for the most part except for some bands like Opeth.

It's a shame you lost your keyboard player. I wish him the best and hopefully you'll guys find a good replacement. I think the keyboard work was pretty cool on Driven by Fate. I really dig this album. It's intense.

Lately I have been listening to a lot of Ayreon (their new on The Human Equation is my contender for the album of the year), Devin Townsend, Garden Wall and Tim Donahue's Madmen & Sinners featuring James Labrie of Dream Theater. They're all amazing records in my opinion.

Talk to you soon, guys.

I can tell you what I haven't been doing:

Sleeping. :D

Mommy and baby are doing well, though, so it's all good.

Things have been a little slow, although they're starting to ramp up again. Still not much in the way of shows, though - and it's a pity we can't get that Richmond thing to work out.

Of course, I'm spending some of the time I'm not sleeping writing new riffs for Division and learning WatchTower songs so two of us can screw around at practice by playing them. :D

I look forward to hearing the OC acoustic EP - sounds damn interesting. Maybe we should do something like that.

Or maybe not. :D

Mike

It's cool to hear updates from all of you on what you're up to.

Sounds awesome about the new Division!

Yeah, the OC acoustic thing is something I'm really excited about. I'll give updates from time to time on how we're doing. First, I need a new computer to start recording. My current one (though nice) is getting old (in computer age that is).

Mezarkabul - Thanks much for the compliments! As always, they mean a lot. I can't wait until you hear our next effort (whenever that may be) - I know it's going to be even better. :D

Mike - Congrats again on your new arrival! I can only imagine how awesome of a feeling that must be. :)

I've been very busy since I started my summer job, and joined Inheritance on vocals. How are things at your end Matt? The acoustic EP sounds like a great idea. Anyways, we need to chat someday soon.

btw, I'm on the second spin of "Amused to Death" right now, and I'm loving it! :D

thank you so much for recommending it!

Hey Mike! Haven't had a chance to congratulate you yet, so CONGRATS!! :)

Oh yeah, me..after dealing with some sad family events in the last couple of months, I'm back to being busy with SymX..working with Romeo on some various projects for this summer, including getting their fan club cd put together, & I can't wait to see people's reactions to it, it's going to rock muchly. Other than that..same crap, different day, pretty much. :)

Now that sounds like something I will really love!

As far as me? Not much. Was in a really bad car accident, but I am ok. Just a few bruises and scratches.

I've been practicing my guitar since my keyboard is 35 miles away. Letting my cousin borrow it until hers gets repaired. She introduced me to this 15 year old kid. OMG..he is amazing. He can play keys and the guitar like nothing I have ever seen!

Other than that, I have been working alot. Still going to the gym. (I'm addicted now.)

:)

@Hell - Glad you got it (and like it)! That's awesome. :D Yeah, we do need to chat. I haven't been on MSN much lately, and when I have been I've looked for you (but haven't seen you).

@Jax - Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I'm glad to know they are (mostly) behind you. Good to hear SX has some good stuff going. I always look forward to hearing what they have!

@Donna - I'll let you know when I have something then. I'm excited about an all acoustic EP. Sorry to hear about the accident - at least you're okay and pressing on. I didn't know you got into guitar? That's great! Are you enjoying it? Being addicted to the gym is a great thing - until you can't go for some reason and feel guilty about it!

Yes, I am enjoying the guitar. It's coming along really well but I think that has a lot to do with the fact I've played piano most of my life and I already know how to read music. :)
