So stoked. Can't wait to see them with Animals as Leaders in April!!
^ I haven't seen him struggle with a damn thing. Last show I saw he owned Sugar Coated, Running Board and When Good Dogs. He actually got a lot of the original jazz vibe back in these songs that was lost w/ Gil (who I definitely say is the most "rock" of the 3).he struggles with things. he's more of a rock drummer. the other two were just machines.
Do they actually play a song the same way twice? This band has always seemed totally random to me and all the live videos I've seen so far looked more like a "guitarobics workout" than a band actually playing anything. I mean, it was cool to watch but other than them starting and stopping at the same times it was just a wall of mushy noise-sounds and drumbeats ...
I guess I am too old for this
Although im a fan, if you dont know the songs then more than likely you'll just think its really random and wont enjoy it
I can see where people come from when they say its really unstructured and stuff but I defintely think they're a musicians band more than anything
I saw them years ago just after the current singer joined, supporting System of a Down, and despite knowing all their material pretty well I had no idea what they were playing. It was a total mess, so much so that when System came on Daron made jokes about it them between every song. I've seen them a couple of times since then and they weren't any better. It's not just the style either - I never had that problem watching Cephalic Carnage, Sikth or even Watchmaker (who are almost literally just random noise, even on record). Still love them on record, but I can't be bothered with them live any more.
