It's exactly 20 days until the release of the new dillinger album

waiting for my copy from Amazon. i still buy physical product not DL:lol: Should come today or tomorrow. Love TDEP, seen them so many times and everytime the show is amazing :headbang::headbang:

It's a good album, great at parts, but the lyrics get quite cheesy at times and take away from my enjoyment of it. Really really dig the new drummer.

This album is def a grower. I personal really dig Greg's vocals, he doesn't shy away from his influences but still manages to keep it really fresh. It's got some of the best tech parts since Calculating and overall is way better than Ire Works (which just seemed unfocused). And I personally HATE the production on DEP albums, but this has the best mix to date. Be sure to check it out in quality headphones, lots of ear candy going on.

I love the production on the Dillinger albums (well this one and ire works specifically). It can sound a bit brash at times but i think it suits the music. I especially dig the bass and bass drum tones.

Loving this album so far. Pretty sick.

After giving it several good listenings, I have to say that the whole album pretty much kicks ass and definitely think the production is awesome as well. Not a bad song in the bunch, but personally I think that #6-Widower and #10-Parasitic Twins the two that show Dillinger at their best!!!!:headbang:

Pedals:

Guyatone reverb, "one that has a tube in it", a trem, digital delay, shaper pedal, and a booster pedal that he says is "similar to the BBE sonic maximiser. Sounds really good." Apparently all Guyatone. They stated that other pedals are used, but these are the main ones and all made by Guyatone.

Amps: According to the band 80% of it was Mark V. He says in the past it was 5150, but twas not on this record.

Here is the quote from Evetts:
"I'm running a cleanish sound, low wattage at 5-10 watts, to get the small amp kind of thing, and then on the other side I'll record with a direct box and really jack the high end up super high and compress it hard. It gives a very metallic kind of tiny sound."

Guitars:

Some cheap, some not. I saw ESP and Gibson mentioned, again very cryptic (they stated les paul and "cheaper ESP guitars).

Drums:

OH: C414 or Violet Design The Amethyst (whatever the fuck that is,)
Snare: 57
Toms: 421
Room: "Mostly 414s"
Drum Hallway: Royer 121s and a pair of cheaper Langevin CR 2001 mics.
Kick: RE20, and he didn't say if he actually did it or not but it sounds like he might have also used a D112 out front of the kick for the thud.

Vocals:
AKG c414

very nice info , thanks for being assed to write that :D

what does he mean by the small amp thing?
the sound of driving a small amp hard? Im assuming thats what he means since running that flat out would murder anyones hearing

I have no clue man. I literally quoted him word for word. Sounds like he also ran a line out from the amp on some stuff as well.

But seriously. They didn't elaborate very well on that stuff.

Ben uses LTDs mainly, so I'm pretty sure that's what he meant by cheaper ESPs. Very cool to hear that it was mainly Mark V, the tone is really good on this album.
