cops checked it out this morning, said there's been a bunch of similar incidents in the area lately, and tomorrow I get a rental car and shiznit while this goes to the shop

yeah I have it tightly covered and etc to prevent that, I wanted to have it towed to the shop today to protect from that, but the insurance claim guy couldn't make it out until tomorrow morning, and apparantly I have to wait for him to decide where it gets towed.

Dude that's some fucked up shit. That's worse than stealing the entire thing. Maybe somebody needs those parts for some sort of science experiment?

Chain the hood to the grill once you have it repaired.

i was going to ask you if it was a Honda, and that looks like one.

ricers man, case closed. those asshats are nutso about anything with an H on it.

@chromo: awesome story and pic. i cant believe they took your valve cover, let alone the entire hood. where was the car parked? this took at least 15 minutes and produced alot of mechanical noise. why didnt you hear anything?

I live out in the country, my car wasn't that close to the house, next to a lot of trees which it seems they parked in the field on the other side of, because I saw some tire tracks around there. We have a large dog that barks at anyone coming onto the property, but these guys must have snuck in silently, and worked silently.

Got my car back from the shop btw... just had to pay the insurance deductible myself, but total bill overall for parts and labor was ~$1300. Keeping a close eye on my car now, parking it real close to the house, and got some motion activated flood lights pointing at it.
