For all you Bush fans, I've fucking FINALLY got GO2E, after being pushed over to the "buy" side. I like it, AND I like the Joey originals, so don't fucking bother with the flames. Charlie is the true star of the show here, Jesus H Fuck. I also like how the guitars are separated. You poor Yanks and Canucks are missing out on the Nuclear Blast limited edition; In My World sounds great. :) I really dig the package design, although the cardboard is really fragile. In the end, I wouldn't necessarily take these over the originals, but it's a nice companion.

Anyway, I just wanted to share, as this lineup is my second-favorite "official" lineup, my all-time fave being the same but with Paul Crook in place of Rob, but Rob does rock, and this will probably be (in my estimation) the last release from this lineup. No, I'm not necessarily bashing the reunion, but if we have to go down that fucking road again, so be it.

I can give my honest opinion can't I? I wold say the same if they did a cover disc with Joey from Bush era songs....I just do see any use for any band to rerecord old songs to current flavour....I always prefer the originals.

Take for example the low action of Ozzy Osbourse to rerecord the original drum and bass tracks of his classic first two albums, just because he won;t admit Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisly had far more involvement in those discs then they ever got credit for....I say it's blasphemy too!

*spits out drink*

WHEN THE FUCK DID THIS TRAVESTY TAKE PLACE?!

*punches wall*

Spacebeer: Well, like I said, I also like the originals, but I wouldn't compare it to the Ozzy fiasco, as this one record isn't REPLACING their entire back catalogue. I don't think that's their intent. Go2E is a modern version of some old classics picked by the fans. Nothing more, nothing less. I like the production, I like Rob's work, and I agree that he should have done his own solos. In any case, I think he has a much stronger tone quality than Spitz. Just one fan's opinion. So, I don't see Go2E as "blasphemy" at all. I DO think it's strange that they'd make this record and a few months later announce a "reunion"...

Disciple: Ozzy re-recorded the bass+drum tracks back in 2002, right? Bordin on drums, Trujillo on bass. Those remasters replace the 1995 remasters, which are quite good and I'd track those down (the ones with the green and blue borders on the covers). Very odd. (Sadly, I think it's the last recorded drumwork of Bordin, who is one of my fave drummers and seems to have dropped off the face of the earth...)

My version of Blizzard is a CD pressing from before 1995 and I have the 1995 edition of Diary of a Madman. That's shocking though.

Some of us Canuck fans ordered the NB version online instead of tracking down the poor Sanctuary version. :D

I know everyone has their own opinion about John vs. Joey, and nobody's "opinion" is right, but for me, the new versions are far superior to the original...heavier, better vocals, and the production sound is way better even despite it was recorded "live in the studio" in a single take. But unlike Ozzy, these versions are by no means meant to replace the original (and vindictively cut old band members out of royalties because somebody's bitch-wife doesn't like them), but rather this had been a longtime request from the fans that wanted to hear it, and the band listened.

Hey Dave, I´m glad you finally bought it! You know who were among the ones who pushed you to :)
I agree with NFF-these versions are far superior to the originals, they are far better sung in the first place (and then played, produced, and so on)
There is no comparison with what the stupid bitch Sharon pushed poor Ozzy to do. It´s completely different thing.

I downloaded that CD. No way in hell would I shell out money for that, especially since it's a re-mix

Greater of 2 Evils is kinda sucky. I dont like how Bush sings older Anthrax. Metal Thrashing Mad is the only song I like Bush singing.

However, I got the new Anthrax DVD MP3-rip with Bush singing Be All, End All and bunch of classics live. That is definatally a killer show, cant wait to buy it on DVD.

Oh, and some of bought the American release and got our German friends to get us the NB release, but I am probably in the minority there.

I downloaded some of GOTE and some songs sound cool. I also think that some of them suck and prefer the originals...

Good to see you are financially supporting them by buying the CD.......

Actually Drokk and I live in the same area where you can go to your local store and buy TGOTE with a bonus disc with Anthrax, Lone Justice and In My World. :)
