I've not heard one PEEP about Tyr...

Just listen to them as much as I do. Then you'll be able to mumble something that sure sounds a lot like whatever the heck they're saying.

LOL. This is also my method. For all I know, I may have been saying the most dire insults in Faroese. :)

I was hoping for more stuff off of the most recent album. They had so many technical issues and maybe that's why. The stalling jokes were funny, though.

I was thinking maybe one more song from their most recent...and playing "Hold the Heathen Hammer High" as the last song of the set. But as-is, I enjoyed them as much as I did at their last headlining show. :kickass:

Due to my bum knee, they were also the only band I stood up for their entire set, since I opted to sit down a lot more than normal during the fest. My knee is thanking me now. :)

I LOVE Tyr. Their set was plagued by technical difficulties with the drums, so maybe that threw them off their game a bit...

The guitarists played only one solo correctly between the two of them. When I say they didn't play them right, I don't mean they missed a note or two, they BOTCHED the solos consistently. The bass player looked like he was having the time of his life, and the vocals were pretty well done.

The performance was good, but I didn't feel like they were really on their A game. The first time I saw them I was blown away how awesome they were. This time I thought they were good, but they could have played better for sure.

I also noticed they were sloppy compared to the first time I saw them.

I find finntroll to be most enjoyable because I don't know what they're saying, honestly, and it's fun to mimic nonsense. "HOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?"

"I CAN'T! ITS SWEDISH! I THINK!"

Exactly! I think Tyr's music and vocal melodies are so good; the fact that I can't understand it doesn't really matter. It's fun, and that's what matters sometimes.

I really REALLY enjoyed their set! I didn't notice anything off about it but I did have a seat that was quite "up there"!

I'm the one that yelled out "SINKLARS VISA!" I'm also the one that screamed (involuntarily, I swear!) when they announced it...

I really think the language sounds beautiful. They way they chant it just makes it sound even more gorgeous.

 Now I feel really stupid. I was on the freakin' stage for their set and didn't even realize they weren't singing in English!!! Then again, sometimes the vocals I hear there aren't as clear and strong. All depends on the monitor mix they want and I only get some of that too. So yeah, I thought it sounded strange a few times and thought perhaps a few lines were something else, but other than that, I had no clue. Yes, they had energy. Not my thing and I'm not familiar at all with the solos to tell whether they were right or not.

Actually, some of their songs are in English, and some are in Faroese. Without going back and checking I think their ProgPower set was about a 50/50 mix.

Totally understand about the stage monitor mix, though. I have a hard time understanding between-song banter even from the photo-pit. :)
