Really?

then does anyone care to tell me why Casting the Stones blows away The Glorious Burden? Sorry Mark, I know Jon is your friend but its true. I've listened to Burden maybe 5 times, none of them all the way through, I just dont care for it. But man. Casting, is just phenominal. Thane is still my fav but this is quickly gaining. The song writing is done very well, and the sound is better than ever. Some people said they dont like the production. Why? The production is very clean, the guitar tone is better than it ever has been, it cuts through well. the drums are very powerful but not over the top, and Johns bass playing fits perfectly. I mean you can really crank this album with the best of em.

You all know the songs and what they sound like so I'm not gonna give a review, but a few words.

Achillies. Awesome melody and vocals, sounds like Age of Mastery. But thats not a bad thing!

Tempest. THRASH!!!! :kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:

Legion and Battered. Still love these songs. Harry's vocals on Legion are some of my favs of all Panzer songs.

Cold. So why didnt you just sell that one to Priest so they could get a decent song out? Sorry guys, Zac and I agree. It sounds like something Priest wish they could write but couldnt come up with it :)

All in all, best album I have heard all year. Mark, Chris, awesome job on another stellar album. Now get the rest of the guys here!

I would negate the "Iced Earth's little brother" comment by simply saying that Jag Panzer has been around longer than Iced Earth instead of comparing their latest albums, which I think misses the point that the reviewer was just retarded.

I wouldn't say The Tempest is a Thrash song. o_O

But anyway, Jag Panzer and Iced Earth are pretty different. Briody doesn't focus on playing triplets all the time, Harry Conklin's voice (is absolutely fucking amazing, but that's beside the point) sounds nothing like any of Iced Earth's previous singers. Iced Earth is just an alltogether different band in every way.

And why the shot at Judas Priest? Demolition sucked, yeah, but their entire catalogue before that is one of the greatest of all time.

Tempest is easily one of the best Panzer songs that you can get moving to at a concert. Just listen man.

I compare them to Iced Earth in this aspect because someone else did in an interview, and I'm tired of Jag Panzer now being seen as a band that needs Iced Earth. Its rediculous. That isnt the case at all.

Shot at Priest? They had some decent songs back in the day. I dont think most of it was all that stellar. But really. There hasnt been much that had been good by them since Painkiller.

You got me all wrong man, I LOVE the Tempest (the play and the JP song ;) ), but it sounds more like Symphony X than any Thrash I've ever heard! :p

Yeah, the IE comparisons are quite absurd.

70's Priest is absolutely incredible, man. The sheer power and emotion of Sad Wings, Sin After Sin and Stained Class is unrivaled, not to mention the music being so historically important. Obviously, after that era it's just straight-forward kickass Heavy Metal, especially Painkiller and Defenders. The first Owens album was pretty good, the second one was horrible. Hopefully the new one will be good.

Never heard of the play sorry :) The model aint too bad tho!!

Personally, I dont really care for the really early Priest stuff. Just not my stuff I guess. To be honest there arent really a LOT of Priest songs I like. Electric Eye, Bloodstone, Screaming, Another Thing, Breakin, and all of Painkiller. Their best IMO. Cathedral Spires rocks too. I couldnt really ever get into the early stuff tho.

Oh man, neither could I a couple years back. You have to really sit down and let your mind digest albums like Sad Wings Of Destiny and Stained Class.

In the past that mentality has helped me fall in love with stuff such as Manilla Road, Virgin Steele's later work, and Coroner's earlier work. :headbang:

If you have Windows Media Player, speed up Exciter from Stained Class and tell me the first thing that comes to your mind. ;)
