jeff loomis (pre-NM) soundfiles?

I can't remember where I heard it, but I heard the audition tape he did for Nevermore before he joined them. He's fucking amazing. I think it was Malmsteen at first. If I find out I'll let you know.

I got some songs by a band called Fear Tech which apparantly was Jeff's band before Nevermore. They're a fuckin awesome death metal band, but I dont know if for sure that this is actually Jeff's band.

Either way, they rule

uhhh, that link doesn't work for me.

I got alot of pre-nevermore Jeff stuff from a guy who used to post here alot, Eswan if I remember corectly. He was in Fear Tech with Jeff, he had a site with some demos and some solos Jeff did. I don't remember the address of the site, but I have all The soundfiles on my computer

This is all I could find on it. Sounds pretty cool. I'd definitely like to hear it.

Fear-Tech - Demo Tape
Arriving in my mailbox was this gem of a tape featuring Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis at the age of 17. Although this band is obviously inactive and outdated, the music found within is anything but. This five song demo tape blew me away with the progressive song structuring and phenomenal soloing by young Loomis and Gary Sanders. These guys definitely spent many hours in the shed. Each song is a well thought out adventure into time changes, altered moods and a singer who actually sings instead of the screaming so prevalent in today's metal. This is not just a guitar hero band though as the talent of each member shines through bringing these songs to life even with virtually no production help. Separate from the band's five songs are three Loomis solos that rip and tear into the heart of every guitarist's soul. As I sat in awe, it was incomprehensible that this was such a young guitarist. The style and class his playing emitted was light years ahead of his earthly age. I thank Knowhereman greatly for sharing this with me. Doug Fortune
Fear-Tech was:
Jeff Loomis- Guitar
Gary Sanders- Guitar
Eric Swanson- Vocals
Shawn Sanders- bass
Dan Scott- Drums
Scott Gundrson- Keys
