Jenson.. F1 world champ

An amazing race, and amazing drive from Jenson, was gripped all the way through :) I want to see lewis win again next year though, as far as raw tallent is concerned, him, vettel and alonso are kings.

:kickass:

Yeah, Jenson was on fire earlier in the race. I can't help but feel sorry for Barrachello though, it seems as though he is always short changed by something, he's just so damn unlucky.

Joe

yeah, and it would be awesome to have the grand finale actually at the end of the season. Reubens qualifying was immense though, its been great to watch qualifying all season :) Abu Dahbi looks interesting anyway though, so I'll probably watch it still haha

Meh.

I like Button, dont get me wrong, but I didnt watch this year at ALL. IT was a fucking wash with all the changes and lack of competitiveness from the start. People shit all over Ferrari for years for making it non competitive, but I disagreed with that. Brawn ran away with this, and it was actually a shame IMO. The rule changes really fucked this year

What? Well, finally in YEARS it was a exciting season. Yes lot's of shit happened. Car regulations arguments, budget arguments etc. etc. But for the first time in about 15 years suddenly teams that always we're in the middle suddenly drive up front.

If we leave all the arguments out, I think it was a great season.

There was a point in the season where 6 races in a row, a different driver won, now that's a long time ago!
Istanbul - Button
Silverstone - Vettel
Nurburgring - Webber
Hungaroring - Hamilton
Valencia - Barrichello
Spa - Raikonnen

After about 6/7 races, when McLaren and Ferrari finally caught up a bit, there was no team really dominating the field. Which made it exciting.

If from the start McLaren & Ferrari would be dominating again(!), they probally could've cared less about the budget desicions for next year. Now since they just didn't achieve anything up to that point in the championship they felt they needed to bitch.

All and all, a great championship this year, leaving all the arguments aside.

Ow, and Briatore got what he deserved...fucker.

Congrats to Jenson, I always thought of him as a really nice guy. Can't wait till Clarkson invites him to TG again :)

The season overall was... hmm. The first half was boring as fuck, but the last couple races were quite entertaining, altho I liked the previous years better. I wonder how will the next year look like... all the new teams, Alonso and Massa in Ferrari, who will be Hamiltons partner in McLaren and where will Raikkonen end up?

Yeah if that season would have been as open from the start (instead of Brawn dominating) it would have been even more exciting.

In the grand scheme though, F1 again lost so much credibility with the Renault affair, devious rule changes, power struggles between the FIA and the teams, arguments over budgets, resigning teams etc.

Best season in fucking ages! The slicks and passing, the different teams it was all great. Webbers first victories! Button drove a massive race though, he was pushing hard. Was almost as on fire as my man Raikonnen! Bad joke...he actually got fuel in his eyes, ouch! But seriously, diffuser issue aside it was one of the greatest 'racing' seasons I've seen in ages. Raikonnen at spa, webbers move on alonso, the wet races, passing on the outside. And Briatore got fucked like mosley in a nazi prison camp!

I think the one to congrat is Ross Brawn. The man in a fucking genius. His strategies and his intelligent use of the rules, bringing that diffuser thing, basically one the championship for him, a true genius. That's unlike Button, which is an average pilot at best. Besides Interlagos, I can't remember another race he stood out this season (even his whole career...). But congrats for him too, and i hope next season nobody takes the lead so early, so we can have more fun throughout the whole season.
