Jerry Cantrell

I LOVE JERRY CANTRELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of mya ll time favorite guitar players...I love the new cd, it was actually supposed to be a double cd, but they shortened it, so the other songs will be released later on...

This album is awesome...The vocal harmonies are incredible, this is the closest thing to new Alice in Chains that there will ever be, and I love Jerrys voice, its gotten soo much better since Boggy Depot...killer album

I just love the way Jerry plays... His solos aren't that complicated or complex, but the way he plays them, man... He's probably my favorite guitarist.

I'll probably pick it up eventually, right now I got a lot of stuff to buy though.

'nother AIC fan here, I don't have any of Jerry's solo stuff, but I love AIC's first 2 albums and the 2 acoustic mini's, didn't really get into "Tripod"/ a.k.a. the self-titled third album. I do like the acoustic songs on Sap sung by Jerry.

Will I like Jerry's solo stuff? It was album of the month in Aardschok magazine, so it should be not bad at least...

I definately want to get his new cd,I really like the song "Anger Rising".He played a show in Baltimore last week but I didn't go.The concert was w/that gay band Nickleback. And since they are total MTV rock they'd obviously be the main act and a brilliant musician like Jerry Cantrell would only get a 15 pathetic little minute set.Playing to a bunch of 12-15 yr.old girls in Nickleback baby-doll tshirts talking about how "hot" the singer of Nickleback is and wondering "Who that weird looking guy is up on stage playing the guitar...oh,he's probobly Nickleback's guitar tech"...So you can see why I didn't go.It would've been a waste of $.
BTW-Jerry played a concert in D.C. a few weeks ago and I heard that he did a lot of Alice in Chains stuff in memory of Layne Staley.

I love Jerry Cantrell's work with Alice In Chains and his solo stuff. I saw him at a festival here in Charlotte, and he played a lot of Alice In Chains' songs (over half) and the rest was from Boggy Depot and Degradation Trip. I was also lucky enough to find the recording of the concert. :)

I definitely plan to buy Degradation Trip soon...I really liked the songs he played from it. He talked about Layne at the show I saw...it was really touching.

The new album was officially released yesterday, but I was able to pick up a used copy at a local music store last Saturday. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, plus it was only $9. I guess someone got a promo copy and didn't want it anymore. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Anything to do with Alice in Chains is fine by me. Jerry Cantrell is one of the greats, no doubt about it. I wouldn't mind hearing some of his new solo stuff....

I know what you mean...I saw Jerry here in Albuquerque (left right after he played) and these little girls and some guys were like who is this guy? He sucks..blah blah blah. They were being totally disrepectful. They were just talking not even facing the band. They kept saying he sucks so I finally told them no this is the real music here. Damn kids saying shit when they don't even know what the hell they are talking about.

Hey guys, so the album is really that good?? Shit, i mean yeah i know AIC is one of the best bands ever, but i usually get skeptical about solo efforts. But then again, how the fuck can you go wrong with Cantrell, you know?

I'll definitely check this out.
