Isn't it commonly agreed upon that smaller drums sound bigger/better in the studio?

And besides, I'm not sure how much of the original drum sound Joey keeps in the final mix.

He's not being literal, he just means that this guy makes his fills and stuff sound like his kit has 8 toms instead of 2... Creative drummers FTW!

He doesn't mean the physical size of each drum, he means the number of pieces in the kit, see my other post... Dude plays with 2 toms and a snare and his creativity around the kit makes it sound like his kit is bigger than Dave Lombardo's.
