joey-music-guy is....

F0RBIDDEN got what i meant exactly! ;)

Im always amazed about how some drummers makes 2 toms sound like a full blow Portnoy-kit!
Imagine taking a guitar with 2 strings and making it sound like it has 6!
(Damn, that must be good practice! :D)

andrew is really crafty with doing odd amount of 16th notes per drum

like 1 hi tom, 2 floor tom, 2 kick, 1 snare, 2 hi tom, 2 kick, 3 floor tom, 1 hi tom, 2 kick then whatever is gonna be on the downbeat after that (17 hits)

in a phrase

i think you got cut off there

but i dont see what the big deal is about "big studios" who gives a shit!!

Nah, I just stop typing randomly because of

I was going to say how it's cool to more or less hangout at the place you're recording. It's awesome that guys can go take a nap or make a sandwich instead of having to wait in the control room or go back to a hotel. They're around if needed. I dunno, just seems like everyone can have more fun (like in the video.)

Whenever possible I like to think of recording as hanging out with some similar minded people, having some fun, and making some music. Sure, you gotta take the music serious, but being too serious can burn everyone out on the whole experience. I want guys (girls I wish) to leave remembering they had a good time and wanting to do it all again instead of dreading the process.

when we recorded our first album we went to a real studio (with protools hd bla bla bla)
in the end we had so much fun that we gave a shit about how the record sounded....and after a half year we realized that we dont like the sound^^

but this was our first real studio experience, so what. It was a hell of fun.
Like you are touring with your best friends but the shows sometimes realy suck...

I know the boys in Woe of Tyrants can't say enough nice things about Joey and his studio.
