John and Jeff are appearing on an Iron Maiden tribute album that's coming out shortly. Quite an interesting choice for a song too (The Wicker Man) but I guess it's a good thing they didn't pick one of the covered-to-death old classics. The song also features Scott Ian and some other people no-one's ever heard of.

The lineup is pretty killer all the way, I mean they got Lemmy, Ripper Owens, Dee Snider, Michael Schenker etc. there. I usualy don't care for tribute albums but this actually sounds pretty good.

Here's the press release:

Numbers From The Beast: An All Star Tribute To Iron Maiden due out on October 11.
From Metalmaniacs.com and Blabbermouth:

On October 11th, Iron Maiden fans the world over will have something new to get excited about as the newly re-launched Restless Records releases Numbers From The Beast: An All Star Salute to Iron Maiden, a tribute to the legendary band. The album, which features Maiden's own Paul Di'Anno and marks Restless return to its metal and punk roots, is Produced by Grammy Award winner and tribute album pioneer Bob Kulick (KISS, Metallica, Aerosmith) along with Brett Chassen and features appearances from current or former members of Iron Maiden, KISS, AC/DC, Mot0rhead, Anthrax, Dio, Judas Priest, Testament, Twisted Sister, Extreme, Whitesnake, Slaughter, Helmet, Dokken and many others.

"It's a fitting salute to an awesome band and may be the best tribute I've ever produced. I really like what we've done to these amazing songs, and more importantly, the band approves," says Kulick of the album.

The cover of every official Iron Maiden album has featured a zombie called "Eddie." Eddie has been painted by artist Derek Riggs for 20 years. Numbers From The Beast cover art was naturally painted by Riggs and is a must-have for any Maiden fan.

Numbers From the Beast marks the first release on the newly revamped Restless Records. William Hein, current president of Rykodisc and former head of Enigma Records, co-founded Restless in 1985 as a punk and metal sub-label of Enigma. Restless became a stand-alone label after Capitol-EMI acquired Enigma, and was subsequently acquired by Rykodisc in 2003. Now, back with a new sound and logo, Restless returns to its roots with the Maiden salute, as well as an upcoming reissue from California punk outfit 45 Grave.

That sounds killer.
I can't wait to get it.

Always been a big Maiden fan.

Lots of good musicians on there.
Not sure how well Joe Lynn Turner will do on his...and I'm not a huge Lemmy fan, but I'll definitely pick this one up.

And of course ANYTHING John Bush does is GOLD in my book!

Thanks for the post!

So it's the same thing as the Metallica tribute Kulick made together some time ago? Could be interesting.

I think it looks cool. Flight of Icarus looks good with ripper singing. I think it is wierd that DiAnno is singing one of his songs for a tribute cd for a band he used to be in. It would of been nice for him to do a Dickenson era song just to see what it would sound like maybe something from number of the beast.

I agree with you. Don't understand why Dianno is going to be on a tribute for a band he was in. Great idea to do a Dickenson song though...

Glad to see John is working with Jeff again.

Well, Ozzy sang on the Nativity In Black tribute album.

I'm looking forward to Numbers From The Beast!
